What is your favorite thing about your hair?

It's healthy! And when I use EVOLVh, it’s shiny! I love that I can blow it out myself and straighten it if i want to and it looks great.

And your least favorite?

Honestly - how curly it is (it wasn't always this way). I don't like to wear it curly and it limits the kind of cuts I can have - meaning it needs to be longer for the weight. And as I've gotten older, it's thinned a bit and it just stops growing - it’s almost as if there is some preset hair length coded in my DNA and it just won't get longer than that now.

How have your feelings about your hair evolved?

It was always fine but thick (think LOTS of hair) with body and some wave. One of my favorite cuts was very short "pixie" cut I had for 3-4 years in my thirties. Then when it grew back out, it eventually got very curly. YIKES!

Do you recall ever being envious of someone else’s hair or comparing your hair to that of a friend/peer/celebrity? Any hair crushes?

Absolutely. Anyone with bone straight hair that can grow down to their waist (I used to be able to do the latter).

Are there any specific hair “phases” that stand out in your memory?

The pixie cut that I referenced above (which I liked) and my poodle-like permed mullet in high school (with two other friends so we all matched!).

Do you have any hair regrets?

Other than the poodle phase, I tried to go "reddish" in color and it totally did not work on me.

How has time/maturity impacted the way you feel about your hair now and how does that relate to your overall self-worth and self-esteem?

I feel good about my hair and appreciate that, in general, it helps me feel good.

Tell us about your experience taking part in this shoot/campaign!

I loved it! I was nervous to start, but the photographer, Carl, and his team were great and the EVOLVh crew and glam team were very encouraging and supportive. And this introduced me to the products which I am now using. My hair used to be like a "Chia pet" whenever it’s humid out, but EVOLVh gives me smooth, no frizz hair - so I’m #appreciative!
